Daytona College has a  diverse group of professionals with rich experience and expertise in the fields  of business, healthcare, medical billing, massage therapy, cosmetology and  skincare.

History of the School

Daytona College was founded in April 1996 as the Daytona Institute of Massage Therapy. In its early years, the school focused entirely on the training of massage therapists to serve the needs of Daytona, Orlando, Ormond Beach, St. Augustine and surrounding Florida communities. The school became accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges as a main school in 2004 and earned its degree-granting status in 2006. The College expanded its program offerings with the addition of the Aesthetic Skin Care, Cosmetology, Allied Health and Business programs. The school moved to its present location at 425 South Nova Road, Ormond Beach, Florida in 2007.

Licensure and Accreditation

Daytona College is licensed by means of accreditation through the Commission for Independent Education, Florida Department of Education.

American Medical Technologists

The Daytona College Medical Assisting Program is recognized by the American Medical Technologists (AMT) and students will qualify for the Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification examination upon graduating from our Medical Assisting program.

National Healthcare Association

The Daytona College Medical Billing and Coding (MBC) and Health Information Technology (HIT) programs are recognized by the National Healthcare Association and students will qualify for the Certified Billing and Coding Specialist (CBCS)  and  Certified Electronic Health Record Specialist (CEHRS) examination(s) upon graduating from our respective MBC and HIT programs.

In addition, graduates from our Medical Assisting programs will qualify for the EKG Technician Certification (CET) and Phlebotomy Technician Certification (CPT) examinations upon graduating from either the Associate of Science or Medical Assisting Diploma programs.

Center for Business Excellence

Daytona College is also an approved vendor with the Center for Business Excellence. The Center for Business Development, Ormond Beach has three One-Stop Employment Centers in Flagler and Volusia Counties specializing in providing employment-related services at no cost to businesses and job seekers.  Services by CBE and the One-Stop Centers are publicly funded and remain driven by the needs of the local business community.
