Spread far across the country in fields as diverse as the graduates themselves, our Alumni are out there thriving in careers they love. Take a minute to read some of their comments below.

If you don’t see a representative from a career you’re interested in pursuing, just ask, and we can probably put you in touch with one of our graduates.

Messages From Our Graduates

Cheryl Waters

Cosmetology Graduate, 2010
Hair Garage, Stylist

I chose to pursue Cosmetology so that I could be a mother my children could be proud of. I had no idea when I started, that I was going to find myself along the way! I am thankful I made the choice to go to Daytona College because I KNOW I got superior training and focused, individual attention from instructors. I graduated my cosmetology program more than ready to start my career as a hair dresser, with the confidence and skill to back it up. My life wouldn’t be what it is today without the training and support I received from the teachers and staff at DC!

Rodney Mobley

Therapeutic Massage Graduate 2011

This was a great experience.  I can’t believe it went as fast as it did, but I enjoyed my time.  It was amazing to have such an awesome set of teachers.  And the staff was excellent because it’s not a giant campus everyone knew who I was.

The class sizes are perfect, not to small not to big.  The teachers interact with you on a great one to one level, even when class is full.  They were always there to help if you don’t understand something.  I will be an LMT because I came to Daytona College!  I want to thank everyone there.

Dale Watson

Therapeutic Massage Graduate 2011

As a graduate of Daytona College, Ormond Beach,  I am pleased to say without question that I made the incredible right choice in regards to my education in Massage Therapy.

Living between Orlando and Daytona, gave me many choices for my education however, not one of  those opportunities suited me until I found Daytona College, Ormond Beach.  As I pulled onto the campus I was greeted with a beautiful facility that was impeccably manicured.  Upon entering the building I was greeted by the receptionist feeling very welcome and as if I had found myself at home.

As I began to look around I realized this facility was state of the art, beautiful, clean, organized and inviting!  Meeting with an adviser, I was given a tour of the facility.  After that we discussed my opportunities and goals and what the college had to offer me.  I was very impressed with every aspect of the interview process.  It took me no time to make my decision.

I began my studies of massage on December 6, 2010 and graduated September 22, 2011.  As the time passed, I began to realize that every person on staff was here for me.  Any question I had was answered, anything I needed I felt at ease to ask. And then there were the teachers!!!  Incredible people who cared!!!  Knowledgeable, Compassionate, Professional, and Fun…  Ms. Sharpe and Mr. Brooks are two of the finest people I have had the opportunity of knowing in my life, and can they teach.  It has been 30 some years since I have been in school and I completed college with a GPA of 3.94.  I credit my teachers for my educational success.  Thank you both!

As of today, I have about 25 clients that I am working with on a regular basis.  If you are looking for a college,  it is my pleasure to recommend Daytona College, Ormond Beach.  If you are driven for success, this is the best setting you will find and, as you can see, my choice has paid off!  Although I’ve graduated, I know I am still and will always be welcome at Daytona College.   Thank you for everything

Gentle Balance Massage Therapy, Inc.

I have passed the State Board Exam and have become a Licensed Massage Therapist, opened my own massage business and am flourishing in my new career all thanks to Daytona College and their excellent Massage Therapy course. Daytona College is lucky to have the best Massage Therapist on staff as teachers. It is wonderful to wake each day and go to work knowing that I am going to make a difference in the way a client feels after their massage. I would highly recommend Daytona College as a stepping stone to better learning, a better career and a better future.

Olga Soltero

Daytona College, Cosmetology Graduate 2010

My name is Olga Soltero mother of 4 children; I had been unemployed for 11 months and didn’t have any luck in finding a job.  On August 22, 2009, my mother, who was a cosmetologist since 1976, passed away.  After her burial, I brought back with me all of her diplomas and achievements.  As I was hanging them up, I realized that this is what I need to do in order to maintain my family.

I quickly got on the computer and researched Cosmetology schools. The next day I received a call from Daytona College.  After I walked through the school and had my interview, I was confident that this is what I need to do.  In October 2009, I began my ten month course of Cosmetology.  I graduated on July 10th, 2010.  Two weeks later (July 28) I was scheduled for my Cosmetology State Board Test, which I passed with high scores.  Soon after on August 11th, I began working with Haircuttery in Palm Coast, and I’m enjoying every minute of it.

I would like to thank God and Daytona College for allowing me to achieve my goal and a promise that I made to my mother.  I appreciate the confidence and the professionalism of the staff and teachers.  I would like to also thank Pivot Point for their excellent curriculum and providing the books and tools for me to work with.  A special thanks to Michele Guertin, at Daytona College for her quick response in submitting my paperwork and providing me with all of the jobs available in my area.
